We notify you of the latest WordPress, Plugins and Themes updates and patches that need to be applied.

Frequently Asked Questions – What you need to know


1) What type of additional support requests incur a cost?

Any work not directly related to Web Ensure tracking and monitoring of your website will be charged for. That includes any elective changes that you request. An elective change is anything on your website that you choose to edit, add, change, create or delete.

For example:
– Adding, editing or deleting a page or post
– Adding elements; columns, buttons, forms, images, text and other page elements
– Editing and/or deleting any element on a page; columns, buttons, forms, images, text and other page elements
– Installing, setting up or deleting a plugin
– Creating, editing or deleting a contact form, sign up form or any other type of form.
– Changing the layout of a page or post
– Adding, editing or deleting any code or scripts to the website, E.G Facebook tracking code, CRM codes and any other types of codes and scripts.

The above examples are not exhaustive but are to give you an idea regarding what is considered an elective change.

2) If I ask you to show/teach/guide me how to make elective changes on my website myself as opposed to requesting that you make the changes yourself, does that still count as support time?

Yes it is and there is a simple reason for this. Whether we spend for example an hour carrying out the change ourselves, or if we spend an hour talking you through how to do it over the phone, or if we spend an hour creating a written guide that shows you to make the changes, all told, we will have spent an hour helping you. And whilst we are very happy to help you, please keep in mind that like any web development company we cannot afford to offer unlimited free telephone and email support for elective changes.

3) How much does hourly support cost?

We will always try to help you and point you in the right direction but if you wish us to work on your site our hourly rate for web development and technical support is only £70. Simply add more time to your account here.

4) OK, I understand what you have written about elective changes. But what if there is an error or malfunction on my website, will you charge me to fix those?

If there are any errors or malfunctions on your website that we determine have been caused by our Web Ensure service, then we will fix those issues entirely at our own time and cost. All other time is chargeable.
